A young woman who had just moved to Brussels was drugged and assaulted at a night shop near the Bourse after visiting the well-known Delirium bar. She and her friend were taken to the shop’s basement, where one of the men working there tried to rape her. Luckily, she managed to escape and later reported the incident to the police, giving them the exact address. While they initially seemed to take it seriously, the case quickly stalled. Despite identifying the shop and even seeing the men working there again, the police never followed up with an investigation or interviews.

Months later, her legal aid lawyer told her the case was being dropped, though it was later clarified it would remain open. The lack of action and justice deeply affected her mental health, leading to a breakdown and hospitalization. She’s now speaking out publicly, naming the shop (Ideal 222) and asking for support—both legally and emotionally—while also trying to find work to regain stability.
