Terrible experience, hostile staff who physically assaulted guests

K C and their group of five had a deeply distressing experience at a hostel where they had booked a room in advance. Although the reservation was secured with a credit card, the hostel insisted on cash payment upon arrival. On Queen’s Day, while the group was briefly in their room dropping off belongings before dinner, a male receptionist accused them of attempting to sneak in extra guests. Despite their explanations, the staff continued to be hostile and threatening, setting the tone for what would become a volatile encounter.

The situation escalated when the same receptionist stormed into the room without knocking, accusing the guests of throwing water out of the window—a claim they denied. The aggressive behavior intensified when the group was suddenly evicted, their luggage thrown into the hallway. When they calmly asked for an explanation, members of the group were physically assaulted: one person was put in a headlock, another was pushed and verbally abused, and the reviewer herself—female—was also held in a headlock by a staff member. Their attempts to film the incident led to further aggression, including an attempt to seize the phone. The police were called, and it was later confirmed that this was not the first complaint lodged against the hostel.

K C strongly warns others against staying at this hostel, citing the unprovoked aggression, lack of professionalism, and physical harm they endured. The group left shocked and traumatized, still unclear about the reason for the accusations and violent treatment they received.
