Vacation nightmare – Drugged at the pool with a three year old

Canadian G described their stay at the resort as the worst and most terrifying hotel experience they’ve ever had. Upon arrival, their booking at Turquesa was unexpectedly changed to a sister property, resulting in long delays and poor communication. Despite traveling with a young child and a partner suffering from a back injury, the family faced continuous obstacles: unhelpful reception staff, late dining reservations despite empty restaurants, and being denied room service without additional charges. Requests for assistance were deflected between resort staff and the travel agency, with neither accepting responsibility.

The most alarming part of their stay occurred when both adults suspect they were drugged by resort staff while at the beach pool with their 3-year-old daughter. They woke up hours later in their room with no memory of how they returned. Security dismissed their report as drunkenness, refused to share surveillance footage or test their drinks, and ignored their requests for police involvement or a room change—though oddly, they did change the door lock and posted guards at the pools the following day. Feeling unsafe and ignored, the family spent the remainder of their trip in distress, receiving only a superficial follow-up from the hotel.
